The world remembered Raoul Wallenberg, disappeared hero.

On Wednesday, January the 17th 2007, the International Raoul Wallenberg Foundation (IRWF) remembered the 62nd anniversary of Raoul Wallenberg’s disappearance (1912-?), the Swedish diplomat, savior of Jews and others persecuted by the Nazis during the Holocaust.

Religious ceremonies, events, projections of movies and art exhibitions took place in New York, Stockholm, Paris, Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, Berlin, Buenos Aires, Winnipeg, Vancouver, Caracas, Montevideo and Santiago.

In New York, at Park East Synagogue, Agnes Adachi, Rabbi Arthur Schneier and Kayla Kaufman told their personal stories of rescue. Then, an artistic group performed the musical piece ”Messages for Raoul Wallenberg”.

In Berlin, Minister Annemarie Werner, from Vaterunser Church, presented an exhibition dedicated to Raoul Wallenberg.

In Buenos Aires, at the site of the statue in memory of Wallenberg, the President and Vice President of the IRWF in Argentina spoke, as well as Rabbi Sergio Bergman. More than 200 diplomats, survivors and other dignitaries were present at the event.
