The IRWF pays a visit at the grave of Oskar Schindler

On the 44th anniversary of Schindler’s death, the IRWF pays a visit to his grave and lays a wreath
October 9, 2018 – A delegation headed by Ms. Viviane Epstein – Head of the IRWF Houses of Life Program – has paid a visit to the grave of Oskar Schindler, the legendary Holocaust rescuer, immortalized by Steven Spielberg’s movie, “The Schindler List”.
Schindler is buried at the Catholic Cemetery of Mount Zion, Jerusalem, Israel.
He passed away on October 9, 1974, in West Germany and as per his own request, he was laid to rest in Jerusalem.
Back in the 1990’s, the IRWF offered support to the Oskar’s elderly widow, Emilie Schindler, who lived in Argentina and fostered her legacy throughout the world. The highlight was an audience the IRWF organized for her with Pope John Paul II, back on March 22, 1995.
