Raoul Wallenberg remembered in Miami

Raoul Wallenberg, the Swedish hero who saved thousands of Jews and others who had been persecuted by the Nazis, was remembered in Miami.

A religious ceremony to remember the ”heroe without a grave” was organized on the new anniversary of Wallenberg´s mysterious disappearance by José Weiss, President of the Venezuelan branch of the International Raoul Wallenberg Foundation.

Wallenberg was arrested by the Soviet army in l945, and since then, nothing more has ever been heard about him.

Rabbi Mario Rojzman, accompanied by singer, Geniene Miller, celebrated the ”Shabat” service in the synagogue of the Aventura Turnberry Jewish Beth Jacob congregation, in front of a large audience.

The activities of the Wallenberg Foundation will continue in the year 2003 with a series of school conferences, the coinage of commemorative medals in honor of the Holocaust saviors, issuance of postal stamps, and presentations in different cities in Europe, Latin America and the United States.
