State of Illinois proclaims October 5, 2011 Raoul Wallenberg Day

For the 6th time, the State of Illinois has supported our initiative to establish October 5th as Raoul Wallenberg Day. The 2011 proclamation has additional importance as it marks 30th anniversary of October 5, 1981, the day in which President Reagan declared Raoul Wallenberg an honorary citizen of the U.S. The 2012 has also additional importance, as this year marks the Centennial of Raoul Wallenberg´s birth (4 August 2012).

We are especially thankful to Governor Pat Quinn and the State of Illinois for its ongoing support and dedication. On 2014, Illinois joins again in this initiative.
