Saviors on the Screen for the sixth time at the JCC Manhattan

Saviors on the Screen, a special Films Series dedicated to the rescuers of Jews during the Holocaust presented by the International Raoul Wallenberg Foundation and the JCC Manhattan will took place on May 1-3, 2011.Started in 2006 following an initiative of the IRWF, Saviors on the Screen is organized annually to commemorate Yom HaShoah, Holocaust Remembrance Day.

Catholic Indian rescuer receives accolade

Coinciding with the commemoration of the Shoah Remembrance Day, the International Raoul Wallenberg Foundation held a moving ceremony at the Tel Aviv University, on May 6th, 2011.
The event was co-organized together with Casa Argentina en Israel-Tierra Santa and The Spanish-Speaking Friends of the Tel Aviv University.
The ceremony paid tribute to three rescuers: Louise and Joseph Materne, a Belgian couple that saved the life of a Jewish child  in the Shoah, and a contemporary hero  – Sandra Samuel, who saved the life of the child Moshe Holtzberg, in the terrorist attack perpetrated against Chabad House in Mumbai, in 2008, in which Moshe’s parents, Rivka and Gavriel Z’l, were murdered.

Prime Minister of the Czech Republic, new Honorary Member of the IRWF

In a warm letter to Baruch Tenembaum, Prime Minister of the Czech Republic, Petr Necas, gladly accepted the invitation to become Honorary Member of the Foundation.

The IRWF Buenos Aires at the UCES

On Monday, May 9th, at 11AM, the IRWF Buenos Aires presented the educational program on Raoul Wallenberg at the UCES – University of Business and Social Sciences. The lecture was presented by Architect Tomás Kertesz, a Holocaust survivor rescued by Raoul Wallenberg, together with the journalist Nicholas Tozer.

The Jerusalem Post – Wallenberg Foundation to honor nanny from Mumbai attack

Sandra Samuel, the Indian nanny who risked her own life to save the toddler in her care during a terror attack on the Chabad House in Mumbai, is to be honored for her bravery by the International Raoul Wallenberg Foundation.
