LETTER TO EDITOR: Winning hearts by training minds

Source:

It is not surprising that a terrorist group like Hamas follows the same Holocaust-denying posture as displayed by its Iranian patrons. Your editorial ”Hamas and the Holocaust” (Opinion, Tuesday) rightly points out that learning about the Holocaust could lead to peace.

We at the International Raoul Wallenberg Foundation, a global-reach no-governmental organization devoted to researching and divulging the feats of the rescuers of victims of the Holocaust, believe that education is the most powerful antidote to hatred and racial discrimination. It is our mission to instill in the young generations the wonderful stories of Raoul Wallenberg, Luiz Martinz de Souza Dantas, Irena Sendler, Sir Nicholas Winton and the thousands of women and men who stood up against evil and made a difference in the darkest era in history.

If and when Hamas allows young Gazans to learn about these heroes, we will know that Hamas no longer is the terrorist organization it is today.
