Jerusalem 3000 Stamp

Issued by Argentine Post Service on May 10 1996, year when the third millenium of the city of Jerusalem was commemorated, since when King David made that city the capital of his kingdom.

The design reproduces a mosaic from VII Century found in Madeba, in which a map of Jerusalem appears.

Raoul Wallenberg stamp

Issued by the Argentine Post Service on November 21 1998. It is the fifth Raoul Wallenberg stamp in the world, after Sweden, Israel, Hungary and the United States. It is based on an initiative of the International Raoul Wallenberg Foundation.

The design combines the portrait of the Swedish diplomat and a reproduction of one of the passports used by Wallenberg to save people. More info

Commemorative Mural Stamp

Honoring the victims of the Holocaust and of the attacks against the Embassy of Israel (1992) and the Jewish Community Center AMIA (1994) in Buenos Aires, issued by the Argentine Post Service, upon a proposal of Casa Argentina in Jerusalem, on December 12 1998. It is the first postal stamp with Hebrew characters in Argentine history.

The design combines the frontispiece of the Cathedral and one of the sacred texts contained in the mural, which has a very significant story: the cover of a Pessach Hagadah (Jewish Easter ritual book). More info

Envelope (front and backside) and postal seal issued by The Vatican on January 13 1965, allusive to the Audience held by Baruch Tenembaum with Pope Paulo VI. On the front part it can be read ”Udienza de S.S. Paolo VI a Baruch Tenembaum Direttore della Oficina Nacional Israeli de Turismo en Argentina. Citta del Vaticano.”

Luiz Martins de Souza Dantas of Israel

Following the suggestion of the International Raoul Wallenberg Foundation, The Israeli Postal Office issued a postal stamp dedicated to de Brazilian Savior Luiz Martins de Souza Dantas. This is one of the many initiatives of The International Souza Dantas Institute – being created on the frame of the Wallenberg Foundation- which is dedicated to celebrate the life and honor deeds of Brazilian diplomat Luiz Martins de Souza Dantas by developing cultural and educational activities in order to spread and keep his example around the world. Other initiatives may include the English translation the book ”Quixote nas Trevas”, written by historian Fabio Koifman; a documentary film based on the book; educational programs and a campaign to name schools and public spaces after the Brazilian Diplomat.

Following an initiative of the IRWF, The Israeli Postal Office issued a postal stamp dedicated to the Conmemorative Mural to the victims of the Holocaust installed within the Metropolitan church of Buenos Aires.
