A Guided Visit to Wallenberg’s Budapest

On our way to the Opera in Budapest on March 3rd

One of the strongest monuments I have ever seen. Brass shoes firmly fixed to the stone

The former Swedish legation from where Raoul Wallenberg and Per Anger managed their rescue operation.

Alice also showed me "the Swedish protected house" where she found shelter in 1944-45

One of the city's many monuments commemorating Raoul Wallenberg's bravery.

It was really touching to see Alice walk away from that site for the second time – this time with her dear ones and in good health.
