The International Raoul Wallenberg Foundation announces the bestowal of the “2012 Raoul Wallenberg Centennial Medal” upon renowned Polish entrepreneur, Aleksander Gudzowaty. Mr. Gudzowaty is distinguished due to his lifetime achievements and his undertakings aimed at the preservation of historical memory, respect and mutual understanding among peoples.
The granting ceremony will take place in Poland in the course of 2013. Messrs. Eduardo Eurnekian and Baruch Tenembaum, Chairman and Founder of the IRWF, will specially attend the event.
United Nations Secretary General, Ban Ki-moon is among former recipients of the Centennial Medal.
Mr. Gudzowaty graduated from the Faculty of Foreign Trade at the Łódź University and is one of the most influential people in Central and Eastern Europe.
Mr. Gudzowaty funded the Tolerance Monument located in Jerusalem, designed by Polish sculptor Czeslaw Dzwigaj.
