A bust of Raoul Wallenberg was installed in Argentina’s main international airport

A bust of Swedish diplomat Raoul Wallenberg (1912 -?), WWII hero, was installed in Argentina’s main international airport, located at Ezeiza, 30 kms away from the city of Buenos Aires. Wallenberg went missing in 1945. Since then his whereabouts are unknown.

On the centennial of his birth, Aeropuertos Argentina 2000, the company that manages the airport, and the International Raoul Wallenberg Foundation, an educational NGO, pay tribute to the “Hero without a grave”.

During the Holocaust, Wallenberg saved the lives of thousands of people persecuted by the Nazis.

The bust of Wallenberg is a creation of Argentine artist Gerónimo Villalba.
