Letter from Jorge Omar Viviani, National Cab Drivers Association of Argentina

Buenos Aires, June 28th 2006

H.E. Vladimir Putin
President of the Russian Confederation

Sir,

I address you, Mr. President, in my capacity of General Secretary of the National Cab Drivers Association of the Republic of Argentina. I would like to inform H.E. that I am joining the international campaign initiated by the International Raoul Wallenberg Foundation. Its purpose is the elucidation of the mystery concerning the disappearance of Raoul Wallenberg, a former Swedish diplomat who saved thousands of Hungarian Jews during the Second World War.

I am petitioning for your collaboration to help us progress in this investigation which is of vital importance to all of us that value humanitarian rights. We want to know about the destiny of a man who defended the right to live of countless people during one of history’s darkest periods: the Holocaust.

I hope that my words, together with those of many other delegates of different governmental and nongovernmental organizations, give you the support, strength and motivation needed to put in motion different ways of clarifying Raoul Wallenberg’s destiny. Only then we will be able to give this peace defendant his well deserved rest.

With all due respect I thank you for your efforts and goodwill.

Sincerely,
Jorge Omar Viviani
