BUENOS AIRES, Argentina, AUG. 20, 2006 (Zenit.org).- Argentina’s Mother Teresa Popular Library will honor the Raoul Wallenberg International Foundation with a community service award.

According to the executive commission in charge of awarding the Mother Teresa of Calcutta prize, the foundation has ”developed a cultural educational movement in favor of life, solidarity and dialogue between nations and men, seeking truth and universal justice.”

The library, which promote the teachings of the Church, has awarded this prize since the year 2000 to personalities, artists, writers, institutions, and means of communication that ”struggle, work and strive for human dignity and the common good.”

The award will be conferred Sept. 23 as part of the institution’s celebrations during the month of Blessed Mother Teresa of Calcutta.

The mission of the Raoul Wallenberg Foundation, founded by Argentine Baruj Tenembaum, is to ”develop educational and popularizing projects that promote the practice of the virtues of solidarity and civic courage, which animated the heroic deeds of the saviors of the Holocaust.”
